A commuter train has hit a truck outside Uddevalla.

A major operation is underway at the scene and an ambulance helicopter has been called.

According to the police, around ten people are said to be slightly injured.

A major rescue operation is underway east of Uddevalla after a train collided with a truck at a crossing.

– The lorry has driven over the tracks and in connection with that the train has run over the lorry, says Malin Husar, press communicator at the rescue service.

Police, emergency services and ambulance were called to the scene at 8.30 on Monday morning. According to the police, there are reports of personal injuries. About ten people are said to be slightly injured, the police write. Otherwise unclear state of damage.

– I don’t know the exact number of injured, but a couple of passengers are being treated, says Malin Husar at the rescue service.

SOS Alarm announces that five ambulances have been dispatched, are on the scene and an ambulance helicopter is on its way.

– One person has been taken to hospital by ambulance at the moment, says Patrik Svensson, team leader at SOS Alarm.

“Total stop on the route”

Police are on site to secure the area around the scene.

– Primarily, we are there to assist the rescue service. Some power lines must have been torn down in connection with the accident as well, says Jens Andersson, the police’s press officer.

The commuter train belongs to Västtrafik.

– There is a complete stop on the route and we are in the process of arranging replacement buses for the passengers. I don’t know how many people were on board or if there are any injuries. We are currently investigating the matter, says Henrik Kjellberg, press communicator at Västtrafik, shortly after the alarm.
