The question arises why the KNSB does not introduce a general helmet requirement, i.e. for all skaters, both in training and competitions. “If you make it mandatory, you also have to enforce it. As an association we simply cannot do that,” Trouw responds. “An association can do that, an ice rink can do it too. It’s fine if it happens at that level and we support that as much as possible. If associations need our help with this, we are ready to help them.”
