It is the second train clock derailment in Vassijaure near the national border in a little more than two months. The new derailment occurred near, but not in the same location as the previous one, on December 17.
The reason for the new derailment is therefore that the restoration work after the previous accident would not have failed.
What is the cause instead becomes a question for the investigating parties, the police. The Swedish Transport Administration and the Accident Investigation and Accident Commission.
Indicates an accident
On Monday morning, the police announced that the classification of the accident was sabotage, but that it was about opening more investigative measures.
The accident commission has not yet reached the point in its investigation that anything can be ruled out.
– But for us, most things indicate that this is an accident, just like the last one, but with perhaps other reasons behind it, says Jonas Bäckstrand, the chairman of the investigation who arrived in Vassijaure on Monday afternoon.
