Abused pregnant partner – man in Kiruna charged with gross violation of women’s privacy

It was at the end of March that the man was arrested by the police. He was arrested shortly afterwards and on Wednesday was charged with gross violation of women’s rights and child rights violations.

It is about five cases of assault, two cases of illegal threats and two cases of damage.

Hit pregnant partner in the stomach

The man is said to have committed all the crimes during a period of seven months against his partner in the then shared home in Kiruna.

According to the indictment, the man allegedly punched his partner in the stomach when she was pregnant, bit her on the back, strangled her and bit her on the cheek. He is said to have uttered death threats and destroyed material things in the home, including breaking an ultrasound image.

Admitted certain deeds

In questioning, the man denied gross violation of women’s privacy, but admitted to certain acts. Before the trial, the prosecution has a series of evidence, including ten witnesses, photographs of injuries and several audio files to prove the crime.

The man is suspected of child welfare crimes as the crimes were witnessed by a common child.
