Absolutely underrated 3rd part of a superhero series that doesnt

Without Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films, the superhero boom of the past few years would not have been possible. The first two parts with Tobey Maguire in particular are regularly on leaderboards of the genre. Part 3, however, is often met with ridicule and malice. This touching sequel certainly does not deserve that.

Sure, Spider-Man 3 is not as perfect as its outstanding predecessor, which has become the epitome of the perfect comic blockbuster over the past few years. Nevertheless, the film does not deserve to be punished so harshly. IRaimi has created an absolutely underrated superhero epic created.

TV tip: Spider-Man 3 is a grand finale of the trilogy

The story of Spider-Man 3 follows on seamlessly from the previous parts and begins with hopeful and romantic tones: Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) finally wants to propose to his great love Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). Before he knows it, however, he is caught up in his past.

Spider-Man 3 on TV: A melodrama as a Marvel blockbuster

In Spider-Man 3, Sam Raimi takes up many exciting themes and motifs that are deeply rooted in the DNA of his previous Marvel films and develops them logically. This is where the greatest appeal of the third part comes from: It is a film about consequences
– and with the prospect of a true end.

These are of course outstanding in all three parts, but what is really gripping is the story.
