Absolute superhero disaster of which a 1000 times better version

Few shootings went on in the last 10 years as legendary horrific as the Justice League ones. When the DC blockbuster finally hit theaters in 2017, it had nothing to do with first director Zack Snyder’s (300) original vision. It’s on TV today.

On TV: DC fans should ignore the Justice League theatrical version

Several books can be filled with the problems with the DC shooting of Justice League. The production studio Warner didn’t think much of Snyder’s dark story direction from the start, who had to fight hard for many of his ideas. When he retired from filming due to personal tragedy, he was replaced by Marvel pundit Joss Whedon (Marvel’s The Avengers). It was a death knell for the film.

Whedon and Warner had additional scenes filmed and threw many of Snyder’s sequences out of the film. The result was a blockbuster in which the ideas of two directors and their differently shaped plots fought for supremacy.

Luckily, after the theatrical release, many Snyder fans set out to seek justice for his vision. In the end, the director was allowed an alternate four-hour version of the film called Zack Snyder’s Justice League release on Warner’s streaming service HBO Max. It is visually stunning, dramaturgically captivating and sets completely different accents than the theatrical version, which simply no longer has a right to exist.
