About Jessica Campbell becomes the first woman in history as a full-time assistant coach of an NHL club. The Seattle Kraken announced on Wednesday that they hired the 32-year-old Campbell as an assistant coach for the team.

Canadian Campbell has worked in the AHL as an assistant coach for Kraken’s farm team Coachella Valley Firebirds for the past two seasons.

In 2022, he worked as an assistant coach of the German men’s national team Toni Söderholm in the leading coaching team. At that time, she was the first female coach in history at the men’s prestigious competition level.

Campbell, who played as a forward during his playing career, won the World Cup silver in 2015.
