About 400 painters taken out on strike

On Thursday, the employers’ side said yes to a mediation offer, while the union said no.

— We have rejected it in its entirety. It was a rather unbalanced offer, says Johan Reden of the Association of Painters Echo in Swedish Radio.

The employers want to remove the skills requirement in the collective agreement and that the probationary periods be longer.

— This is what our members are prepared to strike to prevent. Without requirements for professional competence, status and salary will drop, says Lars Jahnke, painter and conflict manager Painters trade magazine.
