Abolish VAT on bread and milk

Among other things, the party wants to see the re-introduction of the electric car bonus, an investment in biogas and a “Sweden card” for traveling by public transport.

“Climate change is urgent and measures must be taken here and now so that we avoid huge costs in the future,” says MP’s Janine Alm Ericson, economic policy spokesperson.

The party also wants to abolish VAT on certain foodstuffs, or basic goods, for three months and offer free breakfast to schoolchildren.

Basic goods such as milk, cheese, eggs, bread, butter and vegetables are mentioned in the budget motion.

Alm Ericson criticizes the government’s spring amendment budget and that the government does not announce more money to municipalities and regions. MP wants to meet the expected deficit that the public sector is facing and proposes that 24 billion kroner should go to this next year.

— We give notice. Welfare is on a starvation diet, says Alm Ericson.

MP also wants to replace the so-called 1957s because they pay a higher tax in retirement.

The proposals in the spring amendment budget amount to SEK 16.8 billion.

The MP wants to see that 100 billion per year is spent on the transition for ten years. To finance its investments, the Green Party wants to change the fiscal policy framework and borrow money.

— That would make us independent of fossil fuels, says Alm Ericson.
