Nils Petter Löfstedt receives this year’s cultural award from ABF of SEK 100,000. He is rewarded for his “unique ability to create a bridge between different people and perspectives in fine-tuned documentaries”, as it says in the justification, among other things.

Nils Petter Löfstedt is a documentary filmmaker and was most recently in theaters with “På Hvitfeldtska bode vi”, about some of the activists who were in Gothenburg in connection with the riots at the 2001 EU summit there. His film “Himlen mörkrum” was nominated for a Guldbagge in 2017.

The ABF study association has awarded cultural scholarships since 1949, the first 65 years to writers only. But in 2014 it was broadened to also accommodate other cultural expressions.
