Abertis traffic recovery pushes revenues and profitability

(Finance) – Abertisa Spanish group controlled by Atlantia and active in the management of transport infrastructures in Europe and America, he recorded revenues equal to 1.126 billion euros in the first quarter of 2022, an increase of 5% compared to the same period of 2021. The result was driven by the + 18% of the recurring performance, mainly driven by traffic, partially offset by the impact of the loss of perimeter. L’EBITDA settled at 762 million euros (+ 8%), theEBIT to 252 million euros. The net debt is equal to 22.43 billion euros. The traffic marks a + 15.8% during the first three months of the year.

The company emphasizes that it has a “strong liquidity”, with € 9.1 billion total liquidity (€ 4.8 billion of cash including the recent AP7 cash-in and € 4.3 billion of committed unused bank credit lines). Additionally, Abertis says it “will continue to monitor the market for opportunities to extend the debt maturity profile and improve its cost of debt.”
