Melissa Abercrombie has been named Oxford County’s New Director of Public Works.

Abercrombie, who previously served as the country’s senior manager of Engineering Services, Will Begin Her New Role on Feb. 10.
After Joining Oxford County in 2006 as a Project Engineer, Abercrombie Moved Into A Public Works Management Role in 2014. Her dies then included Overseeing Roads, Fleet and Facilities. In 2017, Shelted Her Current Role, Which is responsible for capital Investment, Maintenance and Energy Performance for More Than 300 Buildings, As Well As 12-Dozen-Or-so Vehicles and Equipment. Abercrombie was also in charge of Oxford’s Capital Construction Program, Environmental Compliance approvals and Engineering Services.

Abercrombie Holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Civil Engineering from western university, as well as a project management professional certification. She Currently Serves as a Board Member of Good Roads and is part of Both the Municipal Engineer Association and the Association of Ontario Roads Supervisors Certification Board.
AS Public Works Director, Abercrombie Will Assume Oversight and Strategic Planning for Oxford County’s Construction and Engineering Services, Facility, Energy Management, Roads and Transportation, Waste Management, and Water and Wastewater Services. These Duties CLUTS $ 125 million in Capital Projects in 2025 Alone.
