Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League received a lot of flak when it released in February 2024. Good for you: This means you can get a playable superhero blockbuster on Steam for just a few euros that is better than its reputation.
What do I need to know about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? The action title comes from the creators of the popular Batman: Arkham series: Rocksteady Studios. The expectations of many fans for the new “superhero” adventure at AAA level were correspondingly high.
Instead of extending the strengths of the Batman parts to the Suicide Squad, those responsible at publisher Warner Bros. had the idea of turning the third-person shooter into a kind of service game with loot and levels, online features, microtransactions and an end game close.
However, similar to Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers (also known for strong single-player experiences like the Tomb Raider trilogy), the plan backfired. The endgame, which is designed for seasons, seems unimaginative and generic, the missions repeat themselves too quickly, and the team AI fails.

So how good is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? Due to these and other weaknesses, the game only gets an average 60 to 63 on metacritic.com, depending on the platform. A disastrous result for a AAA game. The user score is only 3.4. The game is rated “Balanced” on Steam, with only 66 percent positive reviews.
The tests by colleagues from gamestar.de and gamepro.de also show that not everything is bad. MeinMMO editor Nico Hernes actually had a really good time: I played through the new DC game: Not a new Batman, but a fun loot shooter.
You can have fun with the story campaign, which is around 12 hours long and is partly beautifully staged. Thanks to the optional co-op mode, you can even play with up to three friends.
When it comes to gameplay, however, what really shines are the fights with the four playable heroes and the fast movement through the game world. All of these are good reasons to take a look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. At least if the price is right.
How high is the price then? It’s good that you asked. You can currently get the standard version on Steam for just 3.49 euros. Every coffee at Starbucks costs more. The Digital Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, currently costs 4.99 euros on Steam.
In both cases it is a discount of 95 percent. Considering how young the game is, this is probably one of the biggest price cuts in gaming history.
