A2A signs an agreement with MD to electrify 31 stores

(Finance) – A2A gives new impetus to electric mobility through the installation of columns recharges of electric cars at 31 stores of the MD chain.

Thanks to the subsidiary A2A E-Mobilitywhich plays the role of CPO (Charging Point Operator), it is planned to install, in 2022 and 2023, 66 charging infrastructures with the possibility of increasing this number progressively. MD stores will be electrified in Abruzzo, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Molise, Piedmont, Sicily, Sardinia and Tuscany.

The balusters will be predominantly of type Quick Charge and Fast Charge Multistandard, new generation systems that allow the simultaneous charging of 2 electric vehicles. All reachable through the A2A E-moving App and the interoperable ones. A2A E-Mobility will also take care of the management and maintenance of the charging infrastructures. The columns will be powered with energy produced from renewable sources and certified by the “100% GREEN A2A” brand.

The agreement with MD enters as part of the Industrial Plan to 2030 of A2A to promote decarbonisation by investing in the electric mobility segment. In the E-Mobility segment, A2A intends to quadruple the installation target of charging points for electric vehicles (24,000 by 2030 compared to 6,000 in the previous Plan), with a relative market share in Italy of 15-20%, activating investments equal to 300 million of Euro,.
