The accident caused a traffic jam of 9 kilometers from Hoevelaken in the direction of Apeldoorn. Motorists who were stationary before the accident were directed back, Rijkswaterstaat reports. Traffic heading towards Apeldoorn was advised to drive via Utrecht, over the A27 and A12. There was also a traffic jam on the carriageways towards Amersfoort. The delay there was 30 minutes.
