Meinmmo editor Nikolas Hernes is a big fan of zombie and horror orgames. Some of the resident evil series on PS5 and PS4 particularly impressed him. This is mainly due to the fact that it is worth playing through the game several times.
I love Resident Evil. Be it the old with fixed camera perspectives, the 3RD-person title or the games from the first person perspective. This mix of horror and slightly trashy action film is simply the perfect mix for me.
Since the release, I have been particularly attached to me since the release. My big highlight is the wonderful replay value.

What is Resident Evil Village about? According to the horrible events in Resident Evil 7, Ethan Winters lives a quiet life with his wife and newborn. But that is kidnapped and he now has to face a new cult and dangerous opponents in a Gothic horror-inspired city.
Typical of resident Evil is the story, if you are really honest, very fun nonsense. From the gameplay, the game is based on the first-person perspective from Resident Evil 7, but a little faster and more action-packed. This is also based on the gameplay, which requires significantly more weapons from you.
And that alone is great fun. The weapons feel good and the Gothic horror opponents such as werewolves or vampires are a refreshing change next to the classic zombie opponents.
Coupled with the good level design, the gameplay is already one of the most important aspects for the reflection value, because you always learn something new. How do different opponents behave, how can I solve the area faster and what are the best weapons for various bosses? You learn something like this and with every Playthrough you get faster and more efficient.
If you are still on time challenges, there is even mercenary mode that you can face.
My greatest motivation to play was always the bonus shop that requires to play through the game more often.

What is so good for the bonus shop? In the course of the game, you collect points through successes and challenges that you meet. These points can be redeemed in the bonus shop. In addition to figures and concept drawings, you can also unlock weapons or bonuses for weapons that shake a new playthrough.
After playing through for the first time, for example, I did a run by using only one grenade launcher with infinite ammunition. Sure, the game is much easier, but there is also a completely different experience and a different atmosphere.
That also goes in the other direction. For a trophy on the PS5, for example, you only have to play through the game with a knife. A activable knife in the bonus shop also helps you.
This aspect is available in most resident evil games, but at Resident Evil Village it worked best for me. The many different areas and opponents feel so differently that I never feel a feeling of monotony.
Horror fans can also enjoy the game, especially the DLC
What about the horror? Resident Evil 7 was a real horror game, and Village is much more action-packed, but there are also occasional beautiful horror sequences. The doll’s house ensures a lot of creepy, especially through a body horror monster.
I have a very special memory of the DLC of the game, the winter expansion. As an Ethan’s daughter, you have a much less large arsenal for self -defense, and in a sequence of the game, I was so hard that I had to pause and laughed over myself for several minutes.
Resident Evil Village is the perfect mix for my taste. It has gothic horror, resident-evil gameplay and a trashy action story that I like to experience again and again. I love the game so much that after my first Playthrough I started a run and then a run.
