Ukraine claimed control of 1,000 km² of Russian territory in the Kursk region, north of the Russian-Ukrainian border, on Monday, August 12, where its forces are still on the offensive nearly a week after launching an armed incursion there. Russia has promised a response, and launched around thirty attack drones against Ukraine on the night of Monday to Tuesday.
