a webcam designed for teleworking

As teleworking has become a norm, Logitech unveils a new webcam, the Brio 500, intended to facilitate daily collaboration. It offers very interesting functions, especially in terms of framing.

Telecommuting has become a reality for many people. Whether full-time or alternating with face-to-face, many workers use it. But to take full advantage of this advantage, you still need to be well equipped. Interaction with colleagues or clients is essential, whether to show off new projects or lead a meeting. You must therefore have a good webcam in order to avoid inconveniences such as unflattering camera angles, poor lighting or a limited field of vision, which often happens, especially when using the camera integrated into your PC. portable. That’s why Logitech, a key player in the computer peripherals market, is launching the Brio 500, a new webcam for hybrid workers. Available in three colors – graphite, off-white and pink – it stands out from classic webcams with quite original functions.

Logitech Brio 500: a webcam for hybrid workers

In terms of its technical specifications, the Brio 500 is nothing revolutionary. With a 4 megapixel sensor capable of shooting 1080p at 30 fps or 720p at 60 fps – your choice – it does not offer the richest image quality on the market. It has a 90° viewing angle, x4 digital zoom, two microphones with a range of 1.22 meters with noise reduction and USB-C connectivity. However, it includes functions that will appeal to workers. Indeed, the Show Mode function allows, thanks to a magnetic mounting mechanism, to lower the camera to film your keyboard or your desk. The built-in sensor and algorithm focus on the object, then invert and crop the image to share with others. This gives the impression that the webcam is just above, which is practical for sharing a sketch, a plan, a product or a key combination during a meeting for example. The RightSight technology also has its small effect by automatically targeting the user, including when he is moving – which makes it possible to give dynamism to meetings. Finally, the RightLight 4 function adapts to the environment in order to offer a well-lit rendering, even when the light is poor.

The Brio 500 is compatible with the majority of video conferencing software such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Zoom. Another criterion to take into account is the impact on the environment – especially these days. Logitech certifies a zero carbon footprint for its product, as the camera is made of 68% recycled plastic for the graphic color, and 54% for the off-white and pink. The Brio 500 will be released on September 17 but is already on pre-order, for the price of €139.99. Note that the manufacturer immediately released the Zone Vibe wireless headphones, also intended for workers. With a weight of 170 grams, its shape memory pads and an autonomy of approximately 19 hours, it offers a correct but unoriginal result, for an amount of €119.99.
