A very powerful typhoon sweeping Hong Kong and the coast

The highest typhoon warning was issued for Hong Kong. The wind can blow up to more than 51 meters per second.

Tens of millions of people in southern China and Hong Kong have prepared for a very strong typhoon that is sweeping the region.

Hong Kong has been issued due to Typhoon Saola highest level warning. The warning scale has ten levels. The last time such a high warning was given in the area was five years ago.

Saola is one of the strongest storms in the region for decades.

The average wind speed is warned to be at least 33 meters per second. At its strongest, the wind can blow more than 51 meters per second.

In China’s two provinces, Guangdong and Fujian, more than 880,000 people have been evacuated. Hundreds of flights have been canceled in the area threatened by the storm.

In Hong Kong, residents were advised to seek shelter, stay indoors and away from windows and doors. For example, companies have taped their windows.

There have been reports of flooding and wind-blown trees in Hong Kong.
