New English referee for the French team in the Euro quarter-finals.
The French team will be led by Michael Oliver this Friday at 9pm for their Euro 2024 quarter-final against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal. Aged 39, the same age as CR7, the referee is a reference both in England, where he has officiated in the Premier League since 2010, and at international level.
This will be their 4th match in the competition after the two group stage matches between Spain and Croatia (3-0) and between Ukraine and Slovakia (2-1) then the 8th final won by Germany against Denmark (2-0) which was interrupted due to the very violent storm during the match.
If he has refereed PSG and OM this season against Real Sociedad and Benfica, he has also already managed Didier Deschamps’ men at Euro 2021 during the draw conceded against Hungary during the group stage of the competition. (1-1)
