After a dismissal that caused a lot of noise on Friday, the boss of OpenAI and father of ChatGPT, Sam Altman, was finally recruited this Monday, November 20 by Microsoft to lead an advanced research team on artificial intelligence.
The OpenAI board of directors criticized the 38-year-old genius for his apparent renunciation of the company’s original commitment: financially disinterested and transparent development.
And yet, the economic opportunities of generative AI are enticing: the market represented 21.98 billion euros in 2022 according to Statista Market Insights. It is expected to double to reach 42.17 billion euros in 2023.
ChatGPT is far from being a monopolistic player, even if it still managed to attract 19.7% of users of AI text generation tools in 2022. Other conversational robots, such as Jasper Chat (13.4%) or YouChat (12.3%) also manage to do well.
