A new application has just appeared on the market. It allows you to book a driver-guard of the armed body and promises to make private security accessible to all.
Have you always dreamed of getting a bodyguard and a driver to ensure your trips like the biggest stars in the films? THE UNITED STATES we do. Or at least a man: Nick Sarath. Only 25 years old, he is the source of the application Protectorwhose objective is to make private security accessible to all. “The police cannot be everywhere, all the time,” he explains, that’s why Protector was born. Behind this project, also hides an ex-manager from Meta, Nikita Bier who wishes to modernize the industry. He notably uses the expression “Uber with Guns” (Uber with weapons) to illustrate the function of this new service available to certain Americans.
The application first allows you to rent a vehicle, on the same system as Uber. Two models are currently available, before the range potentially widens: the Cadillac Escalade and the Chevrolet Suburban. It is possible to rent up to three at the same time. But what differentiates this new application from any vehicle rental company, or even taxi, is that you can now benefit from a bodyguard.
By this system, Protector intends to do everything to ensure your safety if you feel threatened. It is even possible to choose the outfit carried by your “body driver-garda” posted inside the vehicle. Costume, jacket without tie, apparent bulletproof vest … It is you who decide and the application folds to your desires. Unsurprisingly, all of this has a price: count $ 1,000 for five hours in addition to an annual subscription of $ 129. It is not yet possible to reserve this service for a period of less than five hours.
Police and veterans of the American army requisitioned
Be careful and this is where it gets complicated for any citizen wishing to be part of the adventure and become bodyguard via Protectora car, the driving license and/or the detention of a weapon are not sufficient. Indeed, the team of bodyguards is made up of police officers or veterans of the American army, all armed. The application available on the App Store is currently usable in two American cities: New York and Los Angeles.

The birth of Protector is actually explained by a fact of dramatic and relatively recent news. Last December, Brian Thompson – the boss of the insurance company United Healthcare – was murdered in the street, In front of the entrance to the New York Hilton Midtown to Manhattan. According to the application of the application, if the CEO had used Protectorthe bodyguard could have worked by intervening, shooting the assailant or even neutralizing him and ensuring first aid, a speech published on X to justify the need for such a service in American society. “Let us examine how a bodyguard could have changed the outcome of the situation,” said a message published on the American social network accompanied by a video illustrating the point.
