Israeli police killed a man after he allegedly attacked a police officer with a knife in the Old City of East Jerusalem. In the statement made by the Israeli police, it was stated that “A person attempted to attack the police with a knife around 12:30 local time in the Es-Sahirah (Herod) Gate area of the Old City, the police neutralized the suspect by opening fire, and the attacker was found with a knife.”
A 34 YEAR OLD TURKISH
In the statement, it was stated that the police officer who was injured in the upper part of his body was in good condition, and it was claimed that the person who attempted the attack was a 34-year-old Turkish citizen.
While the Israeli police did not share information about the health condition of the person who was shot, the AA team captured the moments when medical teams carried a body from the scene in the Sorceress Gate area of the Old City.
HE WAS KILLED BY POLICE FIRE
Israeli media also shared that the person in question was killed by police fire.
Israeli police announced that they were continuing their investigation into the incident while raiding the hotel in East Jerusalem where the alleged attacker was staying.
