It is the multiple portrait of a “magical”, “hidden”, “tormented”, “identity”, “polluted”, “suffering” France, but also “reunited” or in therapy. With “France under their eyes”, the National Library of France (BNF) presents the result of a public commission as giant as it is original from 200 photographers: painting a portrait of France in this troubled period of the 2020s.
