The sulphurous Islamologist has been entangled since 2017 in a lengthy court case. Six women indeed accuse him of rape and sexual assault, which would have been perpetrated in hotel rooms at several times, all tinged with a certain violence and a semblance of initial sexual play. Of these six complaints, four were filed in France. Two have already led to an indictment of the soon to be 60-year-old man followed by detention for less than a year. Does a heavy sentence now await this particularly controversial Swiss?
For the Paris prosecutor’s office, “despite the indicted’s repeated denials, the judicial investigation has brought together numerous elements against Tariq Ramadan. […] The judicial investigation did not establish the reality of a plot as denounced by Tariq Ramadan but rather a common awareness that allowed some to have the courage to denounce the facts of which they were victims. “It is now up to the two investigating judges in charge of the case to decide whether or not to hold a trial.
