How did the community react to the posters and first images? Not particularly positive. Many criticized the look of the costumes. For example, one user just writes under the official poster: “Cosplay: The Movie,” while another says it looks like a picture of Suicide Squad.
However, the choice of actors is also criticized. Kevin Hart in particular as Roland is inappropriate in the eyes of many fans; they simply couldn’t take him seriously as a comedy star here. Instead, they would have preferred Idris Elba, Michael B. Jordan or Anthony Mackie in the role.
