The retail trade indicator value decreased by 3 units to a value of 85.7, which is the lowest level of the year so far. A value of 100 indicates a neutral level.
The e-tailers’ view of the coming months is also pessimistic. With a decrease of 2.7 units, the indicator value for the segment will be 88.4. Just as for retail trade, the month’s indicator value is the lowest for the year.
Wholesale trade is the segment that accounts for the smallest decline with a decline of 0.3 units. The indicator value of 87.3 lands there.
“E-commerce is affected, just like retail, by the fact that it is believed that consumers will keep their wallets tighter in the future. Consumers’ purchasing power is simply not as great anymore,” says Sofia Larsen, CEO of Svensk Handel in a press release.
