Novak Djokovic has won the men’s singles final at the US Open tennis tournament. The fresh championship is the 24th grand slam victory for the Serbian star.
Djokovic, seeded third, defeated the Russian, seeded second Daniil Medvedev score 6–3, 7–6, 6–3. The final match between the duo lasted more than three hours.
Djokovic will receive three million dollars for his victory, while Medvedev, who came in second, will receive 1.5 million.
After his victory, Djokovic wore a shirt in which he appears together with the American basketball star who died in a helicopter crash in 2020 Kobe Bryant’s with.
The tennis champion said that he planned to pull the shirt if he gets a chance to win the tournament.
