This six -episodes series has the framework of England in the 1880s and plunges us into the ruthless environment of clandestine boxing and a notorious female gang of the time, the forty elephants.

In A Thousand BlowsHezekiah and his friend Alec, freshly landed by Jamaica, find themselves confronted with the violence that reigns in the East End London. To survive, Hezekiah quickly takes part in clandestine boxing fights. His meeting with Mary Carr, the leader of the most important gang of London thieves will be decisive. But as he develops his talents, Hezekiah attracts the wrath of Sugar Goodson, self -proclaimed emperor of boxing in the neighborhood.
