Bloodborne fans have been wanting a next-gen version of their beloved game for years. But FromSoftware doesn’t come forward with it. Other, much less well-known titles, however, are receiving their PS5 port.
What do Bloodborne fans want? The dark Soulslike from FromSoftware is one of the highlights of the PS4 era. On Metacritic it has an impressive 92 points, based on 100 reviews. 14,245 users think similarly and rate the game 9.0. In fact, Bloodborne is so popular that it got an absurd spin-off called Bloodborne Kart.
However, a few years have passed since its release in 2015 and Bloodborne is no longer technically fresh. Particularly painful: The maximum 30 FPS, which can only be increased on the PS5 thanks to a fan mod (via gamesradar.com).
That’s why fans have been demanding a real next-gen version of the game for years. So far, however, their requests have not been heard. There are rumors about a PC version, which have arisen because the new head of Sony is a big fan of the game and is bringing more and more titles to the PC, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Bloodborne is still PS exclusive and only available in its original version. Things are different for some niche titles that were ported to the PS5.
Have you ever heard of JoJo Siwa?
Which games are getting an upgrade? If you look at which titles are getting a next-gen version, the hairs on the back of the neck of the patiently waiting Bloodborne fan will probably stand up.
As X user @Wildbergerrrr discovered, for example, there is a PS5 version of “JoJo Siwa Worlwide Party”. You don’t know who or what that is? In this case, you are either too old or not interested enough in the world of US influencers.
JoJo Siwa is a 21-year-old dancer, singer and web video producer. She became famous through the realty show “Dancing Moms”.
In 2022 she got her own game called “JoJo Siwa Worldwide Party”, in German with the subtitle “A festival for everyone”. It was released for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Xbox and also for the PS4. Players on the PS5 can get a free upgrade for the current console.
In this game you run through different worlds fully automatically and listen to JoJo Siwa’s greatest hits. If you watch the trailer on YouTube, you get a good impression of the game. Everything is very colorful and the protagonist speaks directly to her fans – the target group doesn’t seem to be the classic gamer.
The game only has eight reviews on Steam, most of which are positive, but emphasize: This game is only for real fans of the influencer. The only two reviewers on Metacritic also wrote that young girls and families in particular will have fun with it.
Another title that received a PS5 upgrade is Peppa Pig: World Adventure, an adaptation of the animated series that is also clearly aimed at children.
While lesser-known games are being released in modern versions, Bloodborne fans are still waiting in vain. On current systems, there are at least alternatives that have a similar setting, atmosphere and gameplay. Bloodborne fans in particular should take a look at Lies of P.
