a teenager indicted for the “assassination” of Socayna

Kenya drug consumption still on the rise with increasingly young

It is the face and first name that have become the symbols of the blind violence that hit Marseille this summer. Five months after the death of young Socayna in Marseille, the victim of a stray bullet, a minor suspect was arrested and indicted on Friday February 16 for murder. The young woman was killed in her home last September.

The suspect, aged 15 at the time of the events, is now 16. He is suspected of being the shooter who took the life of Socayna, 24 years old. Indicted for “organized gang assassination” and “criminal conspiracy”, the teenager denies the facts.

But according to the public prosecutor of Marseille, “telephone elements” implicate him. A search of the home of the suspect’s partner also found two weapons, including a Kalashnikov, although the latter was not the cause of Socayna’s death. For now, investigations are continuing to identify the driver of the scooter during the shooting which cost the young woman her life.

49 killed in 2023

On September 10, around 11 p.m., Socayna, a law student, was revising her lessons in her room, on the 3rd floor of a small building. She is hit in the head. Brain dead, she died two days later in hospital. In Marseille, drug trafficking has never caused so much bloodshed. Last year, 49 people lost their lives. At least four were collateral victims.
