A teacher from a private establishment in Saint-Jean-de Luz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) died after being fatally stabbed by a student on Wednesday, according to the Bayonne prosecutor’s office.
” I confirm that there was indeed a knife attack and that the victim has just died “, declared to AFP the prosecutor Jérôme Bourrier. The student was arrested, firefighters said. The facts took place at the Saint-Thomas d’Aquin Catholic high school in Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
According the Actu.fr information site in the Basque Country, who revealed the information, the victim is in his fifties. She was in cardio-respiratory arrest when paramedics arrived, but they were unable to revive her.
According the newspaper South West, it is a Spanish teacher who gave a course to a class of second. The author of the fatal attack would have burst into the room with a knife to violently attack the teacher.
On September 13, 2022, a 15-year-old high school student stabbed a teacher in the throat at a high school in Caen, Normandy (north). The 63-year-old victim was released from hospital a few days later. The student was indicted (charged) at the end of September and imprisoned in a medical environment.
