There is currently a heavily discounted game on Steam that didn’t find too many players when it was released. But fans of Marvel superheroes in particular could have a lot of fun with it.
What game is it about? Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game released in 2022. The game comes from a renowned studio, namely Firaxis Games. The developers are known, among other things, for Civilization and the XCOM series, which even MeinMMO editors are breaking.
Although Midnight Suns had a well-known developer behind it, the game was a commercial failure (via x.com). While it was already available for free on the Epic Store, it currently has a historically low price on Steam.

How does Midnight Suns play? At first glance, Midnight Suns is most reminiscent of XCOM and its turn-based combat. However, the games differ in detail.
In Midnight Suns you create your own character, who then goes into battle alongside well-known Marvel heroes against all kinds of demons. In a team of up to three characters, you carry out battles on manageable fields and use a battle system that makes use of playing cards.
So you always have a number of options in your hand from which you have to choose tactically wisely. The fact that you control well-known heroes like Spider-Man or Blade makes Midnight Suns particularly interesting for Marvel fans.
The game was lost upon release and received little attention from players. On Steam, Midnight Suns has recorded a peak of just 15,000 concurrent players since release (via steamdb.info). Anyone who overlooked or ignored the game back then could give it another chance now.
How much does the game cost? Midnight Suns is currently 85% off on Steam. Instead of the full price of €59.99, you only pay €8.99 until November 21, 2024.
How is the game received by users? Those who have played Midnight Suns draw a “very positive” conclusion on Steam. Over 13,000 users have submitted a review, 82% of which are positive.
The reviews particularly praise the story, the characters and the turn-based battles. User Kalimgard summarizes: “A nice looking, mechanically competent superhero card game.”
