The Norwegian skiing team for the World Championships in Planica has been announced. The biggest surprise in the selections was that they did not win the World Cup competition this season Iver Tildheim Andersen fit into the team.
Andersen was number one in the 10-kilometer skiing World Cup competition in Lillehammer in December. 22-year-old Andersen swept the Norwegian men to a triple victory with free skiing in a side-swept battle.

Andersen is in 47th place overall in the Men’s World Cup. His speed was enough for ninth place in the 10-kilometer distance of freestyle skiing at the turn of last week, when the World Cup was contested in France.
In the freestyle competitions, the men will ski a 15-kilometer intermediate start in Planica.
– I won’t go into details, but we have a lot of good and meritorious athletes in the men’s free race, manager of the Norwegian national skiing team Espen Bjervig comment.
Finland’s World Cup team will be announced early next week. The last races of the World Cup before the World Championships will be skied next weekend in Toblach, Italy.
