A consumable item that has been part of Ultimate Team’s inventory for 15 years will be removed in FC 25. Fans are unanimous in their opinion about this change.
What kind of change is this? Contracts for players and managers no longer have a place in the new FC 25 and will be deleted without replacement. Contracts have been needed in Ultimate Team since FIFA 09 to upgrade your players with more games so that they remain fit for action.
The player and manager contracts were a relic from the early years of Ultimate Team, when there weren’t as many packs. Now you’re overwhelmed with contracts, so they no longer have any real added value and can be bought on the transfer market for the minimal price of 150 coins.
After the fitness cards did not survive the transition from FIFA 23 to FC 24 last year, the contracts are now also affected. “Fortunately,” many fans are likely to think about this decision.
Fans welcome the change that took “long enough”
What does the community say about this? The community has largely reacted with enthusiasm to the announcement that contracts are no longer part of FC 25. Under the post by UT insider Fut Sheriff, the comment with the most likes comes from Fantasy Soccer Talker Kev.
He writes: “They also took long enough to get rid of that (the contracts, editor’s note).” (via x.com)
The comment sounds somewhat critical as to why EA only took this step in FC 25.
And in fact, it must be said that the contracts have received little attention in recent years and have been perceived by most players as a waste of time.
User Simon Tuckerman agrees: “It was such a waste of time to use 11 contract cards. Everyone had more than 500 of them in their club, so it was just outdated.” (via x.com)
In the end, EA has probably made the right move with this decision. The reactions of the fans alone reveal this. However, this does not leave much left in terms of items for FC 25. Only the chemistry styles, the manager leagues and the healing will remain for the new EA FC.
