A “slow” beauty day

A slow beauty day

What if we took one day a week to slow down and pamper our skin (and our mind)? Invitation to cocooning with this “slow” beauty program which reconciles detox and softness.

Taking the time, a luxury for some, used to running everywhere. Stop. We put the injunctions “must”, “I must” on stand-by. We calm this mental whirlwind by refocusing on the essential, us. The must: spare yourself one “off” day per week and pamper yourself a little outside and inside. No inspirations? Here are ideas for both detox and relaxing treatments to take care of yourself.

Lukewarm lemon juice when you wake up

When you wake up on an empty stomach, squeeze half a lemon diluted with lukewarm water (even hot for the bravest). The benefits of squeezed lemon diluted with warm or hot water are known: a cleansing action that helps the liver to cleanse itself naturally. A detox ally, lemon juice helps the body get rid of toxins. It improves digestive functions. These same detox properties of lemon have a “boomerang” effect on the skin, which regains radiance. Exit the cloudy complexion, our face lights up thanks to the minerals and vitamins of this citrus fruit. A gesture to adopt on a daily basis.

A detox hammam

We offer a relaxing break in the hammam. This hot steam bath is a perfect detox ritual that makes you sweat and flush out toxins while releasing muscles and tensions.

After 20 minutes, the pores of the skin are open and are more receptive to exfoliation (a scrub once every two weeks is sufficient). The epidermis is cleaned of its impurities and the dead cells are pushed towards the exit.

A homemade scrub

Make your own cosmeticsis a good way to relax while offering yourself products that are more natural and respectful of your skin.

You can make a homemade body scrub with very simple active ingredients: a scrub combining vegetable oil (olive, jojoba, hazelnut, argan, etc.) to “grains”, for example sea salt, sugar or coffee grounds. A pledge of soft skin!

Ditto for the face, there is no lack of natural recipes: read our article A lemon face scrub.

A facial treatment conducive to mindfulness

A detail can change a routine. Example in the morning in his bathroom where the gesture of cleansing the skin with make-up removal has become an almost Pavlovian reflex (conditioned). We leave this automatic mode to regain the pleasure of caring for body and mind by adding full awareness to these trivial gestures. Concretely, we are fully present in what we do when we apply our facial treatment. Apply slowly, massaging the skin with movements from the inside to the outside of the face. We don’t skip the neck and décolleté. For the neck, we apply our treatment from the bottom to the top.

When thoughts in disorder divert our attention, we quietly return to our sensations: contact of the treatment on the face (is it cold, hot, pleasant). It calms the mind and smooths out the features (since we spend more time applying our treatment).

A rejuvenating mask

An alternative to classic skincare, the mask penetrates the active ingredients deep into the skin. We take advantage of the exposure time to do nothing and go back to our breathing. We follow the air that enters our lungs and the path of the air that leaves our mouth or nostrils when exhaling. You can also count its exhalations. One, two, … up to ten. And we start again.

Self-massage of the scalp

The skull also has the right to its self-massage. You massage your head for a few minutes with your fingertips from the temples to around the skull. Hyper relaxing, this ritual oxygenates the scalpand restores a little plump to the flat hair. To do without moderation but before brushing!

More broadly, we are reconnecting with the art of self-massage. We take a few minutes to massage different parts of the body: hands, body and feet (with a treatment or moisturizing oil for the body) in the morning in the bathroom or even the stomach (clockwise). watch in the morning to stimulate transit). A slow spa experience

In case of severe fatigue, we indulge ourselves and treat ourselves to a spa, institute or thalasso treatment. Our current favorite: Thalgo’s Arctic Wonder Ritual. 90 to 120 minutes where you let yourself be pampered during a bath with effervescent crystals, a scrub with salt flakes and an Arctic Wonder massage with water bubbles. These combined treatments are inspired by Nordic rituals by playing on the alliance of relaxing warmth and invigorating cold. Escape guaranteed.

A relaxing bath with honey and shea

At home, a hot bath per week invites laziness and letting go. We pour a large tablespoon of honey into the water to which we add a teaspoon of shea balm. This combines the muscle relaxant effect (which relaxes the muscles) with the moisturizing and nourishing properties of honey and shea.

Thanks to Manon Faucheux esthetician-modeler at the thalasso Thalazur Helianthal of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. 1h30 arctic wonder ritual of Thalgo, 132 €
