This product is magic. It effortlessly removes bad odors from clothes. And that’s without having to scrub!
Humidity smell, musty smell, sweat smell, cooking smell or smoke smell… We all face this common problem at one time or another. Sometimes, a simple machine wash does not completely eliminate the bad smells embedded in your clothes.
Fortunately, there are many ways to get rid of odors and prevent them from reappearing. One is particularly effective and very easy to implement. It will not require any effort on your part. The solution: white vinegar. If you knew it for its ability to clean almost everything in the house, you now know that it is your new ally against bad odors on your clothes. But be careful to use it correctly.
This isn’t about spraying your clothes with white vinegar. The trick is even simpler than that! Simply add white vinegar directly to your washing machine. Pour half a cup to a cup of vinegar into the rinse compartment or directly into the drum with your clothes. The vinegar will work during the wash cycle to neutralize odors and soften fabrics without leaving a smelly residue.
If you have clothes that are particularly odor-prone, like your sportswear, it may be helpful to pretreat them before washing. Fill a basin with cold water and add a cup of white vinegar. Soak your clothes in this solution for at least an hour. The vinegar will act to deodorize and kill odor-causing bacteria. Then, machine wash, remembering to add your half cup of white vinegar.
Then, take the laundry out of the machine immediately after the wash cycle is finished, and if possible, dry your laundry outside. The faster it dries and in the open air, the less risk there will be of it smelling musty. Of course in winter this will be more difficult. At this time, remember to space out the clothes on your rack, they will dry more quickly.
