Kristian Vesalainen signed a one-year extension contract with HIFK.
Striker Kristian Vesalainen continues in the Liiga club Helsinki IFK with a one-year contract, the Helsinki club informs on its website.
The 25-year-old winger was one of the key attackers of the Helsinki team last season. In 58 regular season games, Vesalainen scored 14 goals and 37 power points. In seven playoff games, there were two power points.
– I definitely want to play in my own breeding club, HIFK is a matter of honor and heart for me, expressed Vesalainen in the club’s press release.
The reserve of the NHL club Winnipeg Jets has played 70 NHL games in his career. Vesalainen celebrated the Finnish championship with Kärppie in the spring of 2018.
HIFK’s last season ended in severe disappointment, when the Helsinki team lost a tight quarter-final series to Lahti Pelicans.
