A shooting died and a wounded raid font

A shooting broke out on Friday 7 to Saturday 8 February in Côte-d’Or. A man was killed and an injured raid police officer. Two surveys are open and an individual remains actively sought.

An A31 motorway area, at the level of Soupagey (Côte-d’Or) was the scene of a murderous shooting on the night of Friday 7 to Saturday 8 February. Two police officers had spinned a car registered in Great Britain as part of an investigation for “Help in the organized gang stay”, reports Bfmtvagainst a network of Iraqi Kurdish smugglers. According to the prosecutor Oliver Caracotch, the police were targeted “automatic arms fire” by the two men who were in the car followed, around one in the morning. A shooting exchange entered between the two men and the two police officers, until the suspects run away. Their car was found a few hundred meters further, damaged. A man, probably died in the accident, was found on the spot, four others fled.

One of the police officers was injured by the leg and transported to the hospital. His vital prognosis is not committed.

Several arrests and two current surveys

Among these four men, holes were found and arrested thanks to “air resources deployed by the national gendarmerie”. They are of Iraqi nationality from Kurdistan and were “immediately placed in police custody for attempted homicide on a police officer”. The survey is carried out by the research section of the Dijon gendarmerie. The fourth is still actively sought. A second investigation for “search for the causes of death” of the man found close to the accident.

The Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, “congratulated the men of the raid, in a message published on X in the middle of the day.
