A shine mask for dull hair

A shine mask for dull hair

Bye bye dull and tired hair with this 100% natural cranberry and lime boost mask. Try this DIY care offered by Aroma-Zone in the new book “Natural hair, 100 care and coloring recipes” (Hachette editions).

The pros of “slow” home cosmeticsor natural hammer it. No need to weigh down the hair with industrial treatments often full of chemical substances that are moderately friendly to the hair fiber but also pollutants for the planet. The natural cosmetics is what vegan is to food: an approach that it is up to everyone to follow according to their convictions. But whether you like it or not, it is always possible to try it.

In natural “cosmetics”, for example, a myriad of treatments exist adapted to its problem.

In winter, for example, the loss of luster and shine of the hair is common. This masknourishing and hydrating lime scented conditioner should remedy this situation. Cranberry, with its antioxidant and protective properties, perks up limp and devitalized hair.

Make this easy recipe offered by Aroma-Zone in “Natural hair, 100 care and coloring recipes” (Hachette editions).

Equipment

-a 200 ml jar (for 2 to 6 masks)

-a mortar and pestle

-a precision scale (or 25 ml measuring cup + 2 ml measuring spoon)

-a bowl

-a mini stainless steel whisk

Ingredients

-60 g of kapoor kachli powder (or 5 measuring cups of 25 ml)

-30 g of cranberry powder (or 2 measuring cups of 25 ml)

-9 g of cranberry vegetable oil: 9 g (or 10 ml)

-1.5 g lime essential oil (or 60 drops)

The preparation

Step 1: make the powder

-Put the kapoor kachli and cranberry powders in a mortar.

-Add the vegetable oil of cranberry and the essential oil of lime, then grind the whole using a pestle until homogenization.

-Transfer the powder obtained in a jar.

NB: The powder can be kept for 6 months

Step 2: make the dough

-In a bowl, put 2 to 6 tablespoons of powder depending on the length of your hair.

– Gradually pour water (the quantity depends on the hair, see below) on the powder, mixing until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous paste.

>The amount of water to obtain a nice dough may vary. Adjust it if necessary:

for short hair you need 2 tablespoons + 25 ml of water

for medium length hair you need 4 tablespoons + 50 ml of water

for long hair you need 6 tablespoons + 75 ml of water

Application and retention

Apply the paste all over the hair. Leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes before proceeding with your usual shampoo.

The dough does not keep.
