The pros of “slow” home cosmeticsor natural hammer it. No need to weigh down the hair with industrial treatments often full of chemicals moderately respectful of the hair fiber but also pollutants for the planet. The natural cosmetics is vegan to food: an approach that everyone has to follow according to their convictions. But whether you buy into it or not, it is always possible to give it a try.
In natural “cosmetics”, for example, a myriad of treatments exist adapted to its problem.
In winter, for example, loss of luster and shine of the hair is common. This maskNourishing and hydrating lime scented conditioner should remedy this situation. Cranberry, with its antioxidant and protective properties, rekindles limp and devitalized hair.
Make this easy recipe proposed by Aroma-Zone in “Natural hair, 100 care and coloring recipes” (Hachette editions).
Equipment
-a jar of 200 ml (for 2 to 6 masks)
-a mortar and pestle
-a precision balance (or measuring glass of 25 ml + dosing spoon of 2 ml)
-a bowl
-a mini stainless steel whisk
Ingredients
-60 g of powdered kapoor kachli (or 5 measuring glasses of 25 ml)
-30 g of powdered cranberry (or 2 measuring cups of 25 ml)
-9 g of cranberry vegetable oil: 9 g (or 10 ml)
-1.5 g of lime essential oil (or 60 drops)
The preparation
Step 1: make the powder
-Put the kapoor kachli and cranberry powders in a mortar.
-Add the vegetable oil of cranberry and the essential oil of lime, then crush the whole using a pestle until homogenized.
-Transfer the powder obtained in a jar.
NB: The powder can be kept for 6 months
Step 2: make the dough
-In a bowl, put 2 to 6 tablespoons of powder depending on the length of your hair.
– Gradually pour water (the amount depends on the hair, see below) on the powder, mixing until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous paste.
> The amount of water to obtain a nice paste can vary. Adjust it if necessary:
– for short hair you need 2 tablespoons + 25 ml of water
–for medium-length hair you need 4 tablespoons + 50 ml of water
–for long hair you need 6 tablespoons + 75 ml of water
Application and conservation
Apply the paste all over the hair. Leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes before proceeding with your usual shampoo.
The dough does not keep.
