Starfield’s release is fast approaching – the ideal time to watch a sci-fi series that fits perfectly with Bethesda’s latest role-playing game.
Starfield will be one of the most important games of the year. Both sci-fi and RPG fans are eagerly awaiting Bethesda’s latest adventure, which will be released in September this year.
But waiting for a game to be released can be an ordeal when you’re particularly excited about the release. An alternative must be found quickly to make the waiting time as entertaining as possible.
So if you don’t want to write or read a 1,000-page Starfield document before release, there’s a series that’s perfect for tackling the remaining weeks: The Expanse.
What series is this? The Expanse is a sci-fi series based on the book series of the same name and available to stream on Amazon Prime.
The six-season series tells the story of James Holden and his crew caught in a political conflict. This flares up between the government of Earth, a rebel group living in the asteroid belt and a human colony living on Mars with its own government.
As if that weren’t enough, a strange energy also emerges in which the conflicting parties naturally see the potential to gain an advantage over their competitors.
What is life like for the people in The Expanse? The Expanse takes place hundreds of years in the future. In the meantime, people have populated space and founded colonies because the earth with 30 billion inhabitants is heavily overpopulated.
The main human colony is on Mars. There, the colonists not only built cities and began terraforming, they established their own government, built their own military, and achieved independence from Earth. The blue planet itself, meanwhile, is led by the United Nations.
In addition to the Martians and the Earthlings, there are also the so-called Belters. These are people who mine in the asteroid belt under poor working and living conditions because Earth and Mars depend on the resources of the asteroid belt.
The Beltlers themselves live on asteroids, dwarf planets, and space stations. However, since life in space has different demands on people’s bodies, the people living there show damage to their health and physical changes as a result of the extraordinary stress.
Over time, a rebel group formed among the Belters, which pursued their own goals independent of Earth and Mars and sometimes resorted to drastic measures.
Why is the series perfect for Starfield fans? Starfield fuels various expectations among sci-fi fans, and The Expanse fulfills some of them.
We see a crew made up of different characters trying to save lives. They travel through the solar system in the best SciFi manner with their spaceship and encounter inexplicable phenomena.
In addition, the series tells an exciting story that tells us more and more about the different crew members, who in turn go through different developments in the course of the series. On top of that, we are learning more and more about what it means to live in space.
Likewise, there’s plenty of political tension, intrigue and betrayal, coupled with heaps of space action. Exactly what a sci-fi role-playing game from Bethesda hopes to deliver – just as a series.
If you want to bridge the time until Starfield release with a game and not with a series, we have a strong alternative to Starfield with 60 FPS, multiplayer and on PS5
