After the opening of Station Cosmos, which takes us to a huge space exploration base, then the high-end eco-lodge hotel, Futuroscope has been adding spectacular new features. This time, the Poitiers park is offering us a new space that combines water and digital technology, something never seen before in Europe.
No palm trees or shipwrecks, this is truly a new kind of water park that opens its doors on Monday, July 15. Covering 6,000 m² of covered space, open all year round, the Aquascope is home to three different worlds, enough to delight both thrill seekers and those who have come looking for relaxation or immersion. “With this new space, we are going to offer immersive, scripted and digital water-fun experiences that remain true to our DNA,” explained Rodolphe Bouin, Chairman of the Futuroscope Board, during a press conference in March.
Located a few minutes’ walk from the completely redesigned main entrance, the Aquascope offers an ideal experience to extend your visit to Futuroscope, which can be completed in half a day. The Abysses of Lights is the most immersive area where water, images and special effects combine to create an atmosphere described as “dreamlike”. In a pool of water surrounded by a 270-degree screen called the Aquaciné, you will witness the spectacle of an infinite sea overlooked by a starry sky. The Sensations area has 8 dizzying slides, including a spiral-shaped one that goes around the building, a “trapdoor with vertical start”, a “double” slide designed for racing and a 4 to 5-person buoy slide for families.
As for those who simply want to “chill out” in the summer, head outside to lounge on the beach deckchairs or in the summer pool, or let yourself be carried away by the flow of the dynamic river on a course punctuated by effects.
