A record number of annual passes withdrawn at Liseberg – after only one month open

Since Liseberg had its premiere on April 23, it has been open for almost 20 days. Despite that, fifty people have now lost their annual passes or gold passes, something even Gothenburg Post told about.

What has caused Liseberg to act is, among other things, people disturbing others in the park, standing up in attractions and also sneaking past in the queues.

– Unfortunately, we have to withdraw annual passes every year, but there has been a little more this year than before, says Mårten Westlund.

“Haven’t learned to queue”

Liseberg finds it difficult to answer why the disturbances in the park have increased this year, but one of the amusement park’s own theses is that it may lie in a generational problem.

– It is mainly teenagers that this affects, and we have a new generation that has not learned to queue. It has also been hot, so standing in a queue can create frustration, says Mårten Westlund.

Changed the security work

A few of the people who lost their annual passes have also been reported to the police. To increase security in the park during the season, they have now changed the way the park’s guards work.

– We have changed our system and point guard the places in the park where there are recurring disturbances. But we also try to work preventively by seeing patterns in the park, to stop events before they happen.
