Finland’s head coach Marko Saloranta was straightforward in his interview after the match.
– We are not satisfied with our performance, of course. It is my responsibility that the team is ready for the game. We started with a quick goal, but I clearly haven’t been able to make it clear myself that this is not an easy game, Saloranta said.
However, he emphasizes that no one in Helmarien’s group thought that the Podgorica match would be an easy one.
– Still, maybe then we thought that we would just talk about this. We were able to improve in the second period, but we gave them too many things that we knew would be challenging for us.
According to Saloranta, the team had emphasized that fast counterattacks must be taken away from Montenegro. Still, the home team was able to use them.
– Still, they got enough high-quality chances that could have turned into a goal, the head coach said, shaking his head.
Hinni Hirvonen interviewed Saloranta.
