KalPa caused league leader HIFK a second consecutive defeat.
Matyas Kantner (2+1), Aleksi Klemetti (2+0), Juuso Mäenpää (1+1), Oliver Larsen (1+1), Jaakko Rissanen (0+2) and Patrick Curry (0+2) were the power players from Kuopio in the 7–2 home win.
– All the things we’ve been working on recently didn’t work today. The work of those without pucks was not enough for us, regretted the IFK pilot Ville Peltonen.
The last time HIFK lost to KalPa by five goals was in 1995.
‘s puck expert Top Nättinen reminds that HIFK’s first court has scored as many as 46 of its team’s 79 goals, i.e. 58 percent.
– After the national match break, here is only a sample of two matches, but the signs of HIFK can be seen if its first court does not produce the results at the wild level of the early season. Kapea has HIFK’s material, and the team’s style of play does not allow other fields to score goals, says Nättinen.
According to the expert, playing “over budget” will backfire at some point. HIFK is not balanced, even though it still leads the series.
Width in the lineup and goaltending are not what the league leader usually has. One – even on a super field – won’t last until spring.
– It is quite clear that it is not Iiro Pakarinen can score all season with a shooting percentage of 38-39, and no Jori Lehterä stay on the 100 point pace until the end.
– Now, when Pakarinen is missing from the first team, there is no replacement or width. In addition, HIFK has a few key defenders injured, says Nättinen.
Inefficient Jukurt in the lowlands
Jami Krannila, Steven Jandric, Linus Nyman and scored the opening goal of his career in the league Onni Korkka gave Luko a clear 4–0 victory over league jumbo Jukurei.
The 23-year-old Korkka is playing his 7th league season and the defender managed to score in his 55th major league game.
John Lethemon needed 17 saves for his third shutout of the season.
The loss was Jukurei’s sixth in a row. The people from Mikkeli haven’t scored a goal in the last two games. For Luka, the win was the second in a row and the third in the last four fights.
– Challenging starting points when we had a match on Friday and Travel on top of that. The lock was allowed to rest again. We would have needed the opening goal today, for which there were places. Luko’s 1st and 3rd goals showed the fighting power and skating of the home team. Our energy decreased towards the end, noted Jukurie’s coach Marko Tuomainen.
Light for the Pelicans
The “first horses” of the home team came into the limelight when the Pelicans defeated the Kärpäs with a score of 4–1.
Iikka Kangasniemi (1+2) and Lubos Horky (1+2) rumbled behind the victory in Lahti. Kärpät took the shots in the fight 59–37, which was not reflected in the final result.
Also scored their opening goal of the season Petteri Riihinen and Antti Tyrväinen were cementing a point pot that would facilitate the Pelicans. Pelicans had won only one of their previous six games.
– Pelicans took the goal difference today exactly 100-0. I can’t block a team for trying or showing a fight. The fact is that if you concede four goals like that, you can’t win, said the Kärppie coach Ville Mäntymaa.
Sport too much for TPS
Good morning Aarnio, Kalle Miketinac, Linus Andersson (1+1), Johan Sundström and Sebastian Stålberg ™ led Sport to a 5–2 victory over Turku Palloseura with their goals.
Sport had lost their previous two games. TPS’ three-game point streak ended.
Sport and league power defender Atro Leppänen tallied two assists and increased his point total to 20 (5+15). Swedish pack of TPS Max Lindroth totaled the points 1+1 and brought the season’s statistics to 9+11=20.
TPS changed the goalie in a three-goal deficit situation, which ignited the fire Tommi Miettinen shields for the chase. In the end, however, it fell short. Noa Vali your ear by Adam Werner between the posts.
Defender Otto Salini the injury freaked out in the final set. He lost his balance and seemed to hit his head badly on the side. On his own feet but restrained, the TPS youth was taken to the booth.
Sport’s second and third most effective defenders Take Rantakari and Miro Karjalainen were out of the lineup as of Friday. According to rumors, the two were in Kuopio on their own trip too late a day before the KalPa game.
Sports coach Juuso Hahl did not say at the media conference what the reason for the duo’s absence was.
Svejkovsky has a cool entrance
Eemeli Finland, Lukas Svejkovsky and on Saturday, a defender who has continued until the spring of 2027 Arttu Pelli put together a 1+1 performance for the winners, when Ilves beat JYP by 5–2.
– We played 60 minutes well and in our own way. Although we weren’t – especially in the second half – as effective as we should have been. Back then, we settled too much for just controlling the puck.
– The third goal may have come from a rebound, but we feel that we deserved it, continued Ilves’ coach Tommi Niemelä and praised – JYP of Johan Pennerborn as usual – the sloppy atmosphere created by nearly 10,000 spectators.
Comet of the early season of the lynx Jens Lööke broke his 12-match scoreless streak in the opening set. Mikko Perttu assisted both Central Finns’ goals.
