A pro was so physically broken at 23 he had to retire – reportedly plans to return at 26

Chinese player Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao is considered to be the best ADC League of Legends has ever seen. But at the age of 23, Uzi had to end his professional career in LoL, his body could no longer cope. At 26, he’s now planning his return for EDward Gaming, rumor has it. It would be his second attempt at a comeback.

Why did Uzi have to end his career so early?

  • Uzi started playing LoL professionally when he was 15. He joined Royal Never Give Up straight out of solo queue and played with the team into May 2020
  • Uzi was known for his “mechanical brilliance” – he clicked faster and better than any other ADC. His reaction time was fantastic.
  • But his lifestyle apparently affected him. At 23, doctors confirmed he had the arms of a 50-year-old. He also suffered from diabetes.
  • Uzi retired in 2020, at the age of 23.

This is the status now: As reported from China and confirmed by the CEO of Team WE, Uzi is currently negotiating his return to the Chinese professional league LPL to Team EDward Gaming, the team finished second in the LPL in the 2023 spring season. But failed in the playoffs he LPL and was therefore only third.

At EDward Gaming, ADC Leaver is under criticism after disappointing recently. EDWard Gaming has already raised an Academy player with “TheSnake”.

Uzi could already meet the currently best ADC in the world on Saturday

If the deal goes through and Uzi starts, his first match would likely be against Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, currently the world’s best ADC player who just won the MSI 2023 tournament with JDG Gaming. The first game would be on Saturday June 10th.

At EDG, Uzi would play with strong supporter Meiko.

Does that work? One does not know. Uzi returned a few years ago, but was unable to establish himself and failed due to younger players and his own health. He ended up only making 9 games for his new team and retired to stream.

At 26, Uzi is actually already too old to be a lol pro, few play into that age and even fewer come back successfully after a career break. The US star Bjergsen has not completely succeeded in making a comeback:

LoL: Star player came back after retiring, wanted to show everyone – nothing works, now he’s finally quitting at 27
