Charlotte Baris: With each reshuffle, the appointment of the Overseas Minister is carefully scrutinized in the overseas territories. Today, their eyes are fixed on François-Noël Buffet. In September, with the arrival of the new government, Marie Guévenoux, the former Renaissance MP, packed her boxes. And it was senator Les Républicains who took his place.

With his 12 territories spread across the four corners of the world, the Overseas Minister inherits a multitude of burning issues: New Caledonia, Mayotte, Martinique… And yet, this position has seen a frantic succession of ministers: seven in seven years, with an acceleration in recent years. A pace which leaves little room for a real long-term policy. But then why does this position seem to be a never-ending headache for everyone who holds it? The answer in this episode.
