The fight against food waste is now commonplace, but other sectors are concerned by the destruction of millions of unsold items which could nevertheless benefit from a new lease of life. This is what the Greez platform offers in the world of cosmetics, by giving or selling at discounted prices treatments, perfumes, and other makeup products destined to be thrown away.

How many cosmetics sit in your bathroom without any particular use? If consumers sometimes waste their creams, serums, and other lipsticks, they are not the only ones. Millions of cosmetics are destroyed each year around the world. According to figures made public by Laboté, four tonnes of cosmetic creams are even thrown away in France every day. An observation that pushed Noémie and Logan, the founders of Greez, to think about a solution intended to revalue these unsold items to give them a new life – and as a bonus to make certain products more accessible to consumers.

To continue, the beauty and well-being sector must not make the planet pay the price for its model! There is an urgent need to offer consumers the opportunity to make sustainable and economical purchases.“, explains this new actor in a press release. The concept is simple, since the platform has given itself the mission of recovering and (re)valuing all kinds of cosmetics, from perfumes to makeup to skincare, destined to be destroyed because they are damaged, from surplus stocks , having a short date, or linked to old collections. All from partner brands committed to a more circular economy.

Every Tuesday, at 9 a.m. sharp, Internet users meet on the platform to discover new brands, and therefore new products offered at discounted prices. Greez specifies that the cosmetics are on sale for a limited time, with discounts of up to -80%. Currently, we are offering Christmas boxes, serums, milks, cleansing foams, essential oils, care for children, and even accessories such as hairbrushes.

The platform goes even further since it also works with associations to donate cosmetic products, the objective being to help those in need – while preserving the environment. And it also works to promote the recycling and reuse of these unsold cosmetics.
