Is your vacation starting or are you leaving soon? Here are some very simple smartphone tweaks that will instantly improve your photos and videos this summer.

Holiday departures are now in full swing and if there is one thing that has radically changed in recent years during the summer holidays, it is the way of taking photos. Some pro settings are just a click away. The TikToker photo specialist Betimi Tech recently posted a video showing some simple iPhone tweaks that he says “90% of people don’t use.”

  • Sizes: in this menu you will find some professional options to take into account, such as the Apple ProRAW capture mode, useful mainly for image editing.
  • Increase video resolution: to get the best videos, you should select the highest possible resolution. On an iPhone 13 Pro Max or iPhone 14 Pro Max, click “Record Video” and choose 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.

  • Auto IPS: as Apple describes, the Auto IPS feature optimizes the frame rate of videos based on scene light and motion. For the best result, select Auto FPS a little lower in the same menu and choose 30 & 60 fps auto. When capturing the video, it is also possible to switch to 4K resolution by clicking on the arrow at the top (portrait) or on the left (landscape) of the screen and opting for 4K instead of HD.

  • Retention of settings: this menu makes your life a bit easier by instructing your iPhone to remember the options you last selected for several tools: Camera Mode, Creative Controls, Exposure Adjustment, Night Mode, Magnification portraits, Live Photo…
